The referee for Sunday's North London Derby between Arsenal and Spurs has been announced.
Tottenham travel to the Emirates Stadium with both teams looking to bounce back from weekend defeats. Arsenal were on the end of a 3-1 scoreline against Liverpool at Anfield while Tottenham fell to a surprise 1-0 home defeat to struggling Newcastle United.
Last season's fixtures between the rivals produced eight goals, Arsenal came out as 4-2 winners in December 2018, while the reverse fixture ended as a 1-1 draw.
Martin Atkinson has been appointed as referee for the latest encounter between the rivals and the appointment suggests that there will be no let up in goals, with the four previous North London Derbies that he has taken charge of producing a total of 19.
The games he's refereed include the 3-3 draw in 2011, while he was also in charge for the 4-4 draw in October 2008. His last North London Derby in 2016 saw the sides draw 1-1.
Out of the four games he has officiated between Arsenal and Tottenham, there has been three draws and one Spurs win (2-1 in February 2015).
Atkinson has already taken charge of an Arsenal game this season, when he refereed the Gunners' opening day victory against Newcastle United at St James' Park.
The last Spurs game the referee officiated was the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in March.
