REET exam in July for 62,000 posts

JAIPUR: The state government has announced that the REET examination will be conducted in July for 62,000 posts. This has given a hope to unemployed youths and students who were disappointed after the cancellation of REET examination. Moreover, older students who have filled their examination form amount, will not have to pay anything else.

For this financial year, the government has decided to focus on the expansion of English medium education in the state. About 1,000 government English medium schools will be opened in rural and urban areas each. For the expansion of English medium schools, more than 10,000 teachers’ posts will be filled and a separate cadre for them will be made.

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot also announced to open 200 primary schools in rural areas of desert district – Jodhpur, Bikaner, Barmer and Churu. Many proposals of public representatives were given to open more schools in these districts which was taken into consideration for this. About 3,820 government secondary schools upgraded to senior secondary.

Around Rs 200 crore has been allotted for the repair, maintenance and establishment of classrooms, laboratories, libraries, art and craft, and computer room in various government schools in the state.

The chief minister further announced that Jawahar Lal Nehru (JLN) Marg in Jaipur will be developed as an education hub and Rs 400 crore will be spent for next two years.

Under the Education Hub scheme, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Governance and Social Science will be given Rs 225 crore, Raja Ramdev Poddar Residential school will be given Rs 100 crore and Radhakrishanan Library will be given Rs 75 crore. To provide education facility to the girls in the state around 2,000 government girl’s schools have been upgraded.
