Reese Witherspoon and Britney Spears were both household names at the turn of the millennium.
While Reese was mopping up in the movie business, Britney was making waves after breaking into the music industry.
The pair had both been thrust into the spotlight in the early noughties.
Both were raising two kids under the ever watching eye of the media and both even got divorced in the same year in 2007.
However, their careers took different twists and turns and now the actress has hit out at those who treated her better than the Toxic singer.
The Legally Blonde star, 45, has described how she thinks it is "s**tty" that she’s been treated better in the public eye than stars like Britney Spears.

In an interview with Time magazine the actress says she considers herself "lucky" that she was labelled one of Hollywood's "good" girls which meant she wasn't as heavily scrutinised by the paparazzi in her more embarrassing moments.
Reese expressed gratitude that her reputation hadn't been tarnished by her outbursts, such as being filmed screaming at the cameras.
She acknowledged that her and pal Jennifer Garner could get away with more than the "bad" apples like Britney, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.
She openly admitted: "What if the media had decided I was something else? I would be in a totally different position."

On her reputation, she added: "I want to say it’s my decisions or the career choices I made, but it felt very arbitrary."
And when reflecting on how her image was handled differently to other stars she blasted it as "kind of s**tty".
Reese has been able to take a step away from acting in recent years to set up successful businesses such as her Hello Sunshine book club.
The company sees Reese pick the books and so far the majority of titles have been superbly received with over half making it onto the New York Times best-seller list.
