Reece James sends a message to Chelsea fans after suffering serious injury setback

Reece James suffered a huge injury setback last night as he was stretchered off while playing for England U20s in the Toulon tournament.

The 19-year-old started the 2-1 defeat to Chile last night, however towards the end of the first half seemed to catch his ankle in the pitch.

James looked in real pain and was given oxygen before heading to a local hospital in order to have checks on the ankle, with fears that it could have been broken.

According to The Sun , the injury is not has bad as first feared with them reporting that he could be out for just a month over pre-season.

However, the full extent of the injury is not yet known and the Blues will be hoping that it isn't too bad as he was set to join the first team ahead of the 2019/20 season.

James posted on social media to thank everyone for their wishes, and that he would keep Chelsea fans posted on his injury.

James had a stunning season for Wigan Athletic in the Championship on loan, and he is set to be getting a chance with the first team.

Meanwhile, Ola Aina's future is still up in the air with Torino weighing up an option to buy him after a decent spell on loan with the Serie A side.
