Reece James has told Chelsea fans to look out for Tino Anjorin as the next academy star to be a breakthrough star.
The 18-year-old has already made his first team and Premier League debut, having come on as a substitute in the Carabao Cup against Grimsby Town.
Anjorin then made his Premier League debut in the 4-0 hammering of Everton, just before the league was suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Frank Lampard has handed out eight first team debuts this season to academy players this season, and one of the standouts in recent weeks has been Billy Gilmour.
The youngster starred in the wins over Liverpool and Everton and is now in contention to start on a regular basis when the season starts up again.
But who will be the next breakout start at Stamford Bridge? James certainly has an opinion on that.
‘Be on the look out for Tino Anjorin,’ James said in a Q&A with Bleacher Report. ‘He’s debuted already but he’s one who can break into the first team.’
James is one of the eight who has made his first team debut this season and impressed when he came off his long-term injury.
The 20-year-old has made 11 Premier League starts, with another six appearances off the bench.
His highlight came in the 4-4 draw with Ajax in the Champions League, thumping home a dramatic equaliser late on in the game.
And Anjorin, who is the captain of the FA Youth Cup side, could be next to shine for the Chelsea first team.
