Reece James fit for Chelsea’s trip to West Ham but Trevoh Chalobah adds to Tuchel’s injury list

Reece James is available for Chelsea’s clash with West Ham – but the Premier League leaders will still be without N’Golo Kante for Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.

Trevoh Chalobah is also missing after damaging his hamstring against Watford on Wednesday.

Kante is still to recover from his twisted knee, while Ben Chilwell (knee) Mateo Kovacic (hamstring) remain out.

Thomas Tuchel is contending with a mounting injury list but the return of James, who missed the midweek game with a knock, is a boost.

Jorginho and Timo Werner were both unused substitutes for the match Vicarage Road, with Tuchel opting to rest the pair – who are in contention to start at the London Stadium.

Tuchel said: “I almost need a list [for how many players] did not train with Kovacic, N’Golo, Ben Chilwell and Trevoh Chalobah. They are all out for tomorrow. Everybody else is available.

“Every player out is a player too much. There are a lot of midfielders [out]. For weeks we have been without Kova and N’Golo.

“Ben Chilwell is a long one, we know. For Trevoh, we need more examinations to see how bad the injury is.”
