Reece James fires warning to Chelsea teammates ahead of Liverpool fixture

Chelsea defender Reece James has insisted there is 'no pressure' on Thomas Tuchel's side as they prepare to take on Liverpool this weekend but warned his teammates to expect a tough game at Anfield.

The Londoners have enjoyed an impressive start to the Premier League season, having won both of their two opening matches without a conceding a goal.

Jurgen Klopp's side boast an identical record to Chelsea, having secured two victories, scored five goals and kept two clean sheets.

Chelsea have been backed by many to win the Premier League title this season after re-signing Romelu Lukaku and will view Saturday's trip to Anfield as a chance to lay down a marker.

Though recognising that taking on the Reds will represent a 'tough' challenge, James is confident in Chelsea's ability and remains relaxed about the prospect of challenging for top-spot this season.

" Liverpool have been up there at the top of the Premier League for the last few seasons so we know going there will be a very tough game," the 21-year-old told chelseafc.com after Sunday's 2-0 win at Arsenal.

"We need to prepare right and bring the same intensity as today [Sunday] into that game but our team is very strong. We have a number of top players in each position so when one top player comes off, there’s another one replacing them, which keeps the competition really high.

"I wouldn’t say there’s any pressure on us right now," added the right-back.

"We have to take it game by game but obviously our aim is to win every week. Everybody here is ambitious and wants to win the title but we just have to take things slowly right now."
