Ree Drummond to visit Chicago with latest: 'The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime'

Oct. 16--"There's no time like dinnertime," and Ree Drummond is correct.

The Food Network Show star, author, blogger, wife, mom and self-proclaimed "accidental country girl" has added another cookbook to her repertoire. "The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime" (William Morrow, $29.99) is the fourth cookbook in her series of works offering simpler ways to make homemade meals.

Everything from chicken taco salads, cheesy cauliflower soup, quinoa caprese and mini blueberry galettes fill this colorful book, both appealing to the eyes and inviting to the stomach. Drummond's choice to break down her recipe steps into picture form is the perfect pairing to a person who is a better visual cooker, making cooking from the book a more engaging experience.

Drummond will bring her book tour to Naperville on Nov. 6 with a brief speaking engagement at North Central College, followed by a book signing. Fans will be able to take photos with the author after each signing. Tickets ($32) are required to attend the event and the price includes a copy of the "Dinnertime" book.

Details: 6:30 p.m., Nov. 6, Wentz Concert Hall on the campus of North Central College; 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. Tickets: Visit www.andersonsbookshop.com
