The COP26 climate conference in Glasgow is entering the final hours of what are likely to be tough negotiations. In order to reduce carbon emissions, one key objective is putting an end to coal power. South Africa is among the countries that have pledged to progressively phase out this highly polluting fossil fuel. But on the ground, coal mines are booming.
