Redskins WR Cody Latimer arrested after allegedly firing gun at poker game

Washington Redskins wide receiver Cody Latimer made a poor first impression with his new team over the weekend, getting arrested on five counts of assault in Colorado on Saturday.

According to a police report that was obtained by 9News.com, Latimer had set up a poker game at his friend’s apartment, where alcohol was being consumed.

According to 9News, Latimer got into an argument during the game and was later kicked out of the apartment. After approximately 30 minutes had passed, Latimer allegedly returned to the apartment, pulling a gun from his sweatshirt and threatened two people, saying that he had saved two bullets for them and that he was going to “kill everybody.”

The report says Latimer emptied the magazine and chamber of his gun, but later became agitated again and fired two shots in close proximity to someone.

Latimer was later arrested on Saturday and charged on five counts, including:

  • Assault in the Second Degree
  • Menacing
  • Illegal Discharge of a Firearm
  • Prohibited Use of a Weapon
  • Reckless Endangerment

Latimer was released from the Douglas County Detention Facility on Saturday after posting a $25,000 bond.
