Redskins trade up for QB Drew Lock in new mock draft

The Washington Redskins seem like an obvious candidate to draft a quarterback in the 2019 NFL draft.

Perhaps the bigger question is simple — where?

In a new mock from Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling, the Redskins make a move up a few spots via trade with the Green Bay Packers to grab Drew Lock out of Missouri:

What, you’re not excited about a quarterback battle between Case Keenum and Colt McCoy? Didn’t think so. With Alex Smith’s future in doubt, Washington should be poised to make a short jump like this (in return for a third-round pick) for the right passer, and Lock could be their man if he lasts this long.

The Redskins have the ammo to make a move like this, though it would require them to absolutely be in love with a certain quarterback.

The 6’4″ Lock is an intriguing player at least, as he’s tossed a maximum of 44 total scores in a year and also rushed for six touchdowns last season.

In this mock scenario, Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins are already off the board.

Like Lock or not, making a big move like this would prevent the Redskins from having to choose between only Colt McCoy and Case Keenum.
