Redskins sign veteran LB Jon Bostic to help with linebacker depth

The Washington Redskins have made a move to fill the hole left by Reuben Foster’s season-ending ACL injury.

On Wednesday afternoon, ESPN’s Field Yates reported that the Redskins signed veteran LB Jon Bostic to add some depth to the defense in Foster’s absence.

Bostic was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 2013, and has spent time with the New England Patriots, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers since then. He spent 16 games in Pittsburgh last year, tallying 73 total tackles and 2.5 sacks.

Bostic will likely come in right away and compete for playing time alongside Shaun Dion Hamilton and Mason Foster, but his veteran presence is sure to bolster the Washington defense.
