Redskins sign former Steelers LB Jon Bostic

NFL reporter Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday former Pittsburgh Steelers starting linebacker Jon Bostic has signed with the Washington Redskins. Washington acted quickly to get Bostic under contract after Reuben Foster tore his ACL during organized team activities.

Bostic was signed last year to replace Ryan Shazier in the starting lineup. While Bostic wasn’t the athlete Shazier was, he did a solid job in run support. Bostic started 14 games last season and finished with 73 tackles.

Pittsburgh decided to go a different direction at inside linebacker this offseason, adding athletes Mark Barron and Devin Bush. This made Bostic expendable but he should have solid production for the Redskins.
