Redskins could have had something with UDFA tight end Kano Dillon

A lot has been made of the handful of guys the Washington Redskins selected in the 2019 NFL Draft, but as several veteran fans will tell you, some of the best players in league history went undrafted.

In the grand scheme of things, undrafted free agents have a major role to play in the NFL. Highlighted by names like Kurt Warner, Waren Moon, Wes Welker, and Antonio Gates, it’s not hard to see why players who go undrafted are incredibly important.

Kano Dillon is one free agent the Redskins should have been excited about, writes Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox.

Standing at 6’5″ and 256 pounds, Dillon has the ability to pose a threat over the middle in the passing game, and proved in college that he has the skills to develop into a particularly dominant run blocker, which is sorely needed in Washington.

While both Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis have the bulk of offensive snaps accounted for, there’s no reason that Dillon can’t bide his time and make his mark on the league once he gets the opportunity. As any Redskins’ fan knows by now, neither Reed nor Davis is particularly prone to staying healthy for long amounts of time.

Unfortunately, the Redskins waived Dillon, yet keep an eye on whether he is someone they explore again over the summer.
