Redskins send WR Robert Davis to practice squad

The Washington Redskins will retain one of the developmental prospects they like via the practice squad.

Wideout Robert Davis is headed there after getting cut, the team announced Tuesday. The 24-year-old prospect missed all of last season after a leg injury in practice but has flashed traits and worked his way back to full health.

In the team’s third preseason game, Davis made a big bid for the 53-man roster by scoring on a 55-yard touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals.

This move to the practice squad now gives Davis another chance to keep grinding and the team instant depth they’re familiar with should another injury happen on the main roster.
