Redskins scoop Chase Young in new 2020 mock

With quarterback not much of a concern thanks to the presence of Dwayne Haskins, the Washington Redskins could be in a position to grab the best player available in the 2020 NFL draft.

And that player might be Ohio State’s Chase Young.

That’s the pick for the Redskins in a new mock from Luke Easterling of Draft Wire:

Another franchise in disarray, Washington needs to add as much talent as possible, regardless of position. They already have their quarterback of the future in Dwayne Haskins, so they need impact players elsewhere on both sides of the ball. Young is a monster of a pass rusher with all size, athleticism and technique to be a dominant player at the next level.

That mock has the Redskins picking third and watching as two quarterbacks come off the board before they get to the podium anyway.

Considering Young looks like he’s on pace to be this year’s Nick Bosa, the Redskins can’t complain too much if this is how things pan out. Ryan Kerrigan only has one year left on his deal after this season and Montez Sweat boasts upside but hasn’t emerged.

Right now, “settling” for a prospect like Young is a great problem to potentially have down the line.
