Redskins release second unofficial depth chart ahead of game vs. Atlanta

The Washington Redskins will play their third preseason game of the year on Thursday against the Atlanta Falcons, and they have released their second unofficial depth chart ahead of the contest.

After the first unofficial depth chart was released — which featured Colt McCoy as the starting QB, and Dwayne Haskins as the third-stringer — Washington fans have seen some changes take place on the field as players work their way up or down the list. Most notably, McCoy’s injury has held him out of all preseason action thus far, so his ranking in the QB competition can’t be improved much, if at all.

There is nothing major to note, other than the fact that McCoy is still listed as the starter despite head coach Jay Gruden declaring on Sunday that he might not be ready to play until a few weeks into the regular season. It should also be noted that Geron Christian and Ereck Flowers are still the starters on the left side of the offensive line, after several questions about their performances were raised in the first two games.

Montez Sweat is not listed as a starter, sitting behind Ryan Anderson in the No. 2 spot, but if we continue to see more out of him in the final two weeks of the preseason, it wouldn’t be a shock to hear that he gets the final nod over Anderson.

With two games left, everything remains fluid. For now though, this is a good mile marker for where players stand around the team.
