It’s all love between Wendell Smallwood and his former Eagles teammates, but the newly signed Washington Redskins running back wants nothing more than to beat his ex-team in the season opener. Waived by the Eagles during the 53-man cutdown, Smallwood was the most sought after player on the waiver wire.
The Redskins put in a claim, and it appears that Smallwood is there for more than just providing intel on his former team. While addressing the media before his first official day in Washington, Smallwood made it known that he wants revenge.
The Redskins current running back depth chart includes Derrius Guice as the focal point, Adrian Peterson as his relief and Chris Thompson as the third-down back. Smallwood will find a place on that depth chart.
