Redskins punter Tress Way is a QB, according to Stephen A. Smith

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith is at it again.

Smith, who has recently notably suggested players on injured such as Hunter Henry could have a big impact on a game, has now confused Washington Redskins punter Tress Way for a quarterback.

While trying to make the point the Redskins should go after Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, Smith said on an ESPN broadcast that “some guy named Tress Way actually started one game.”

Which, of course, didn’t happen. Smith was trying to make the point the Redskins went through a ton of quarterbacks last year after Alex Smith’s injury, which they did.

But Smith was clearly reading box scores on air. Way’s name is on the stat sheet because he indeed attempted one pass last year:

Way is well aware of Smith’s comments and joked about his QB rating:

Way had a superb season at his real position, but it sounds like he doesn’t mind major personalities highlighting his passing skills, either.
