Redskins move Derrius Guice and Caleb Brantley to injured reserve

Just a day after Redskins running back Derrius Guice underwent knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus, Washington has moved him to the injured reserve.

The roster move will free up a spot for someone else on the 53-man roster, which could be very useful for the Redskins, as they deal with so many injuries early on in the season.

Guice will be able to return from the IR after Week 8, which could be beneficial because he is likely to be nearing full health by then.

This roster move was expected and comes as no surprise as Washington looks to get ready to face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
