Redskins met with Kyler Murray at combine

The Washington Redskins have a close eye on Kyler Murray.

Team president Bruce Allen admitted as much during an interview with the media at the combine, where he let slip that the Redskins meet with the Heisman Trophy winner.

According to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington, Allen had this to say about Murray: “Size matters, but so does speed.”

Fair enough. The biggest criticism about Murray right now (besides his possible MLB ties) is his size. But while some teams might care, the Redskins sound like they fall into the “tape doesn’t lie” camp.

On tape, Murray is the draft’s most electric player who has the upside of a star at the pro level. The Redskins could certainly use that after the Alex Smith injury, though the odds Murray falls to them at No. 15 aren’t great — and Doug Williams has said they don’t like the idea of trading up.
