The Washington Redskins made quite a few headlines Friday, primarily due to cutting Josh Norman and Paul Richardson in a bid to free up cap space.
One move that subsequently fell under the radar? The team adding a linebacker.
The Redskins quietly announced adding linebacker Jared Norris
Norris is a bid at upping the special teams unit before free agency even starts. He’s 26 years old and spent some time under Ron Rivera in Carolina from 2016-2018.
This is far from the biggest move in the world for the Redskins, especially compared to some of the headline items lately. But it’s yet another example of Rivera going to get guys he’s familiar with.
And while building a culture and adding new faces to all levels of the team, this move can’t go 100 percent ignored.
