Redskins hope to correct ugly record on Monday Night Football vs. Bears

The Washington Redskins don’t show up often on Monday Night Football.

Well, they’re in attendance, but the performance just hasn’t been there. Since 1998, the Redskins are a stunning 1-16 at home on Monday Night Football.

This is now a focal point again because the Redskins play host to the Chicago Bears on Monday night in Week 3. That alone is a terrifying prospect given that an offensive line missing Trent Williams has to find a way to slow Khalil Mack and a host of others.

Easier said than done, especially with Case Keenum leaning on Adrian Peterson in the backfield and mostly only getting production from the rookie Terry McLaurin at wideout.

Defensively, the Redskins aren’t getting much of a pass rush and Jonathan Allen is still working his way back from injury too.

One of the NFL’s most-injured teams already yet again, the Redskins will have to pull off a big feat to overcome a 1-1 Bears team that has had a few problems of its own, but also appears to simply match up very well with where the Redskins are hurting.
