Redskins go heavy on the offensive line in latest Draft Wire seven-round mock

We are now less than two weeks away from the 2020 NFL Draft getting underway, which means the endless string of mock drafts that are getting flooded onto our timelines will soon become reality.

While the Washington Redskins have a chance to shake things up early on with their pick at No. 2, it seems crazy to think they would select anyone other than Ohio State defensive end Chase Young. After the first round though, what will they try to do? Will it be offensive heavy, with an emphasis on receivers and tight ends? Or perhaps they will focus on snagging a left tackle early on to help replace Trent Williams? According to this mock from USA TODAY’s Draft Wire, it will be a little bit of both for Washington.

  1. (2) DE Chase Young — Ohio State
  2. (66) CB Bryce Hall — Virginia
  3. (108) OT Trey Adams — Washington
  4. (142) WR Collin Johnson — Texas
  5. (162 from Pittsburgh) OT Michael Onwenu — Michigan
  6. (216) LB Joe Bachie — Michigan State
  7. (229 from Denver) S Jalen Elliott — Notre Dame

The Redskins select Hall in the third round which will assure that they have a solid CB prospect that can be groomed in the following years, and the picks of Adams and Onwenu, both capable left tackles, will only increase the completion for the starting spot in the coming years.

All in all, this mock is very feasible, and one that would be solid if it were to come to fruition.
