Redskins cut RB Byron Marshall in order to make room for Wendell Smallwood

In order to make room for running back Wendell Smallwood, who the Washington Redskins claimed off of waivers on Sunday, the team has released running back Byron Marshall.

Marshall, who the team decided to keep on the roster over veteran RB Samaje Peine, is now being released in order to make room for Smallwood, who the Redskins must have been excited to see on the waiver wire.

There is still a chance that Marshall could be claimed by another team, and he is also able to be brought back onto the practice squad in Washington as well.
