Redskins cut Cam Sims to promote Craig Reynolds

The Washington Redskins have decided to cut Cam Sims and promote Craig Reynolds from the practice squad, according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington.

Sims is the latest casualty as the Redskins make a bigger transition to a run-first approach under the guidance of interim coach Bill Callahan.

While a fan favorite thanks to his big plays in camp and preseason games, Sims is once again on the roster shuffle while other parts of the team get moved around. He played just three regular-season snaps.

As for Reynolds, Callahan himself had hinted at this move earlier in the week when the Kutztown product got some reps with the first-team offense.

Reynolds is still depth behind Adrian Peterson and Wendell Smallwood, but he has a shot at playing time thanks to the injury to Chris Thompson.
