Redskins coaches love the violence Derrius Guice brings to the game

Derrius Guice popped off the stat sheet last week as the Washington Redskins took down the Carolina Panthers, turning 10 carries into 129 yards and a score.

But besides the stats, Redskins coaches simply love the attitude and pop Guice brings to an offense that is otherwise trying to bring along a rookie passer.

Offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell for example, likes the “violent finish” Guice displayed, according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington.

But it isn’t just about the violence either, as O’Connell noted at one point during his presser, stressing another big part of Guice’s game everyone knew about before he got drafted:

One could suggest Adrian Peterson is a violent runner in his own right too. But whether it’s the wear and tear of this season or the age difference, the veteran just didn’t jump off the screen as much as Guice over the weekend.

And Sunday, the Redskins will need another healthy dose of this violence to unseat the Packers.
