Redskins call up Robert Davis from practice squad

Wide receiver Robert Davis is already back on the 53-man roster for the Washington Redskins.

Davis, sent to the practice squad days ago, was lost a bit in the shuffle of moves the Redskins announced Friday. With Derrius Guice and Caleb Brantley going to injured reserve, the Redskins had some space to fill.

Besides signing Aaron Colvin, Davis got a promotion from the practice squad.

Davis wasn’t seemingly going to last long on the practice squad. He missed all of last year but showed some of that big upside the Redskins keep hanging on to by scoring a big touchdown in the preseason.

Granted, with Terry McLaurin breaking out and Trey Quinn one big game away from doing the same, it doesn’t seem likely Davis will see notable time just yet.

But when he does, the big-play ability is always there.
