Redskins bring in free agent RB Josh Ferguson to work out amidst Chris Thompson injury

With the status of running back Chris Thompson up in the air, it looks like the Washington Redskins are bringing in another running back to work out in case they are in need of some depth this upcoming week.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, free agent Josh Ferguson was brought in to work out while the MRI results for Thompson are still out. Rapoport says that the Washington running back is dealing with some turf toe that was suffered on Sunday, and it is uncertain when he will return.

Ferguson last spent time with the Houston Texans, where he was a member of the practice squad before being released ahead of the 2019 season. Ferguson has bounced around the NFL, spending time on multiple practice squads but struggling to see much game action in his short career.
