Redskins are first team to draft defensive lineman in four consecutive 1st rounds

In case you didn’t already know, the Washington Redskins defensive line is absolutely stacked with talent.

With the selection of DE Chase Young in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Redskins became the first and only team in the common draft era to use a first-round pick on a defensive lineman in four consecutive seasons. This has landed them a front four of Young, Montez Sweat, Daron Payne, and Jonathan Allen. When you throw in Matt Ioannidis and Ryan Kerrigan as well, the front like is downright dangerous.

We all know that the Redskins defensive is being built around their front seven, which has a chance to carry them a long way over the next couple of years. But when you realize that they’re approaching the defensive line in a way that no team has done before, it gets us excited for what’s to come.
