Redskins are already big Week 1 underdogs vs. Eagles

The Washington Redskins have a tall task in front of them to start the 2019 season.

Wednesday, the Redskins learned their 16-game schedule alongside the rest of the NFL when the league gave the go-ahead to announce it.

Not long after, Las Vegas oddsmakers weighed in by slotting the Redskins as eight-point underdogs on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith.

This one isn’t too much of a surprise, at least. The Redskins are on the road and will try to break in a new quarterback against a former playoff team getting Carson Wentz back under center on top of all their other upgrades.

The Redskins lost to the Eagles twice a season ago, so it isn’t unreasonable to see a spread of eight or so. The draft still has to happen, but this one might stick.
