Redskins announce changes to personnel department

With the news mostly centering on a quarterback competition, the Washington Redskins used Thursday to announce a few quieter personnel changes.

According to the team’s official website, college scouts Cole Spencer and David Whittington will now serve as national scouts.

Senior vice president of player personnel Doug Williams provided a comment on the moves.

“We’re excited to announce the changes and additions to our player personnel department,” Williams said. “These individuals have worked extremely hard every day to help build our roster. We value the importance of this department and the personnel that contributes in the day-to-day operations.”

A flurry of other moves is detailed within the release, including the hiring of outsiders Connor Barringer and Tyler Claytor. This one files under general offseason housekeeping as scouting departments throughout the NFL reshuffle the ranks and dive right into prep for 2020.
