The Washington Redskins are adding to their linebacking core, adding veteran Kevin Pierre-Louis, who was formerly with the Chicago Bears.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Pierre-Louis is a lesser-known player who is a favorite of many defensive coordinators across the league. This likely brought him into favor with Redskins DC Jack Del Rio and head coach Ron Rivera.
According to Rapoport, the deal with the Redskins is for one year, worth up to $3.45 million. Pierre-Louis will now play in a linebacker rotation alongside Jon Bostic, Shaun Dion-Hamilton, Cole Holcomb and Reuben Foster.
Pierre-Louis was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round in 2014, and he has played with the New York Jets and Chicago Bears since. In 2019, he started three games for the Bears and had 37 total tackles.
