Redskins added Noah Spence due to Cassanova McKinzy injury

It turns out Casanova McKinzy played a big part in the Washington Redskins adding free-agent linebacker Noah Spence ahead of their Week 3 game.

McKinzy has been a superb standout for the Redskins this year compared to the expectations surrounding his game and he’s a fun story, too. But a hip injury is why the team started looking for help.

JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington explained: “Redskins OLB Casanova McKinzy had an MRI on his hip, per source. No word on results yet. Big part of the reason the team signed Noah Spence.”

The rumors about a Spence signing started making the rounds Tuesday night, though no major reason was given.

This certainly makes sense and if the Redskins indeed needed to bring somebody aboard to help, it sure doesn’t hurt to grab someone like Spence considering he features plus-upside.

McKinzy getting back would be ideal too, but Spence might get a chance to make a name for himself pending the results of that MRI.
