Jersey number talk has oddly been a rather large topic surrounding the Washington Redskins this offseason.

Daron Payne got a number change. That seemed like it would be the end of such a topic.

At the time, at least.

Then the Redskins drafted Dwayne Haskins, who wanted to don No. 7, which in Redskins territory is an interesting topic. Joe Theismann eventually gave Haskins his blessing to wear the number, but not before the legendary quarterback took some heat in the media for the saga.

The No. 7 drama is at least thankfully over. The rest of the rookie class now has numbers too and most seem routine. Montez Sweat will be another 90s edge rusher and Bryce Love will go with the famous No. 23.

Then again, these are all subject to change and with the way this offseason has gone, maybe this won’t be the last fans hear about the numbers.
