Adelaide United will turn to the January transfer window in search of a striker as they attempt to fix their A-League Men goalscoring woes following another injury setback to Kusini Yengi.
The 10th-placed Reds have just three draws and two losses from their opening five games, scoring four goals in that time.
Yengi suffered a quad injury on Thursday, a day before the Reds suffered a 1-0 loss to Western United.
"He had his scans today and the first diagnosis is that it doesn't look great," Veart said.
"He'll be out for an extended time. How long that is, I'm not 100 per cent sure.
"So we'll have to maybe have a look in the January transfer window to look to bring in a striker because that's what we're lacking at the moment. We need someone who can score goals.
"The club will have to have a good look to see if we can find a striker."
After their match against Perth was postponed because the Glory were stranded in Queensland due to a COVID-19 case, Adelaide now don't have another league game in 2021 and will look to reset.
"We've got an FFA Cup game coming up. And then we lead into January where there's a lot of games," Veart said.
"We'll have a little bit of time to regroup, have a good look at our performances in the first five games and work on those areas that we need to improve on.
"Because I'm mostly happy with the way we're playing, we're just not scoring goals.
"We just have to keep knocking on the door and it will come. The boys' effort tonight was tremendous.
"The style of football was good, it's just the final ball."
