Reds OF Jesse Winker found out mid-game about the Yasiel Puig trade from a fan

The Internet Era or whatever you want to call it has produced some extremely weird situations when it comes to mid-game pro sports trades.

Just ask ex-Mets infielder Wilmer Flores, who thought he was being traded back in 2015 while playing in the middle of a game because of reports on Twitter. He headed to play his position with eyes full of tears. It turned out he was not dealt. Bizarre.

Four years later, Yasiel Puig was part of a three-team deal that netted the Reds Trevor Bauer. The outfielder was part of a brawl with the Pirates despite the fact that he was, in fact, no longer a member of the Reds.

That’s one weird aspect of this whole thing, but here’s another: Fans at Great American Ball Park decided to inform Reds outfielder Jesse Winker about the deal right before action started back up in Tuesday night’s game:

So very weird.
