Faced with the growing threat of the coronavirus pandemic, being on the verge of the first league title for 30 years - yet with no indication when or even if the Premier League would return - tested the mettle of all Reds.
However as they almost always have done under Jurgen Klopp, they produced when it mattered and got over the line.
We are currently working on a new tribute to the Reds - and we need your help.
We want to examine and explain how Reds fans celebrated when the title was finally won.
The means seeking to explore the resilience and psyche of Liverpool supporters as triumph touches tragedy in the unique period.
Obviously football is the most important of the least important things, as has been said, but winning the title was a landmark experience for supporters.
