Reds fans on the march as Nottingham Forest's promotion charge heads for Wigan

Nottingham Forest are set to be backed by a huge travelling contingent at Wigan Athletic as they go in search of their first ever win at the DW Stadium.

The initial allocation of 2,000 tickets for next Sunday’s televised Championship clash sold out earlier in the week, with Forest requesting a further allocation.

Wigan then dispatched 1,000 more, which have been selling well as fans look to back Sabri Lamouchi’s men as they bid to keep up their 10-match unbeaten run going.

And with demand expected to increase as the 2pm kick-off gets closer and adult prices costing just £15, the Latics have offered a further 1,000 to take the overall allocation to 4,000.

In recent away games, Lamouchi’s men have been backed in terrific numbers.

More than 8,300 were at the Emirates Stadium for the Carabao Cup defeat to Arsenal, while just under 3,000 filled the away section at Stoke City to witness Forest go top of the Championship, before 1,100 trekked to Blackburn last Tuesday evening where Joe Lolley’s screamer rescued a point.

At the City Ground, Forest boast the second-best average (27,784) in the league, and with tickets reduced for their next home game against Hull City, another full house is expected.
