
A fire that broke out at Redhead on Thursday has now been contained
Fire and Rescue NSW said easing weather conditioned had allowed firefighting crews to gain the upper hand on the blaze near Kalaroo Road.
"A large amount of smoke is visible in the area however no property is under threat. Operations are ongoing," the service said.
Fifteen fire engines on were called to the scene from both FRNSW and the Rural Fire Service and a helicopter assisted with water bombing due to the "fast moving" blaze.
The blaze was initially believed to be the result of a hazard reduction burn jumping containment lines, but is now believed to have been deliberately lit. The matter is under investigation.
