From reservoirs to botanical gardens - online Reddit forum asked where people's top places to visit in Greater Manchester are... but is yours on the list?
With an area of over 1,200 square kilometres, there is a plethora of beauty spots and popular tourist attractions across the region. Those living in Greater Manchester or others visiting from afar can head to inner-city crevices of greenery or miles of moorland away from any urban developments.
The question, posted by user SophieL628 last Thursday asked simply : "What’s your favourite part in the whole of Greater Manchester?". Reams of replies began quickly flooding in, with many popular hotspots appearing more than once.

This included the likes of Didsbury's Fletcher Moss Park, the Saddleworth Moors and the city centre's Bridgewater canal.
Melodic-Guitar192 said: "Fletcher Moss Park in Didsbury. What a good one to suggest, it's lovely there, lovely pubs to visits as well right next to it. I sat at the cafe in Fletcher Moss Park once, it's so pretty there."
User Danze1984 answered: "Saddleworth/Dovestones or Hollingworth Lake" and beef5570 said: "Daisy Nook in Oldham. Grew up near it in the 70's. Went all the time as a kid."

Groovycallum agreed, responding: "Saddleworth / Crompton Moors. Lush walks and great views. Real hidden gem, not even half the amount of people you see walking along the Mersey on a sunny Saturday afternoon."
Referencing areas closer to the urban city, Truffle--Shuffle answered: "I like the little park between Deansgate and Castlefield, behind the Everyman theatre" and TheGreatBoar said: "Castlefield canal where you see the difference between the old red brick and Beetham Tower is absolutely gorgeous."
User hajum said: "The stretch of road sandwiched between Quay St and Palatine Rd: starting at the top Peter St then going through Oxford St, Oxford Rd and finally ending at the bottom of Wilmslow Rd. It's a 3.7 mile walk that captures the vibe of the city like nothing else."
Theprofileguy answered: "Diggle Delph in Denshaw" and preferring to travel a little further afield, Altruistic-Rich-7809 said: "Ramsbottom, great little village with lots of great shops, pubs & places to eat. Surrounded by the hills and some great walks and a lovely view of Manchester up at Holcombe Tower."
