Western Australia consolidated a century stand from their openers to press home the early advantage against South Australia on the opening day of their Sheffield Shield clash.
After winning the toss at Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide, WA moved to 2-187 at tea with Shaun Marsh (31) and Cameron Green (40) the not-out batsmen.
Sam Whiteman (65) and Cameron Bancroft (46) laid the perfect platform and will be kicking themselves for not posting bigger scores.

Both were removed in the space of five balls during the first session, flame-haired legspinner Lloyd Pope (2-57) bowling Bancroft with his wrong'un before having Whiteman caught at legslip by Travis Head.
But that's where the joy ended for last season's Shield wooden spooners.
Former Test batsman Marsh hunkered down with Green for the second session and while only adding 72 runs in 32 overs, were largely untroubled.
