Red Vauxhall crashes into front door of house in Long Eaton

A car crashed through a garden wall and into the front door of a house yesterday evening.

Police were called to the property in Long Eaton at around 11.50pm on Tuesday (December 17).

There are not believed to be any injuries as a result of the incident, but there is damage to the front door.

Pictures released by the Erewash Response Unit on Twitter showed a red Vauxhall Corsa at the driveway of the property with smashed brickwork from the garden wall all over the place, DerbyshireLive reports.

Police said officers initially arrested a man on suspicion of drink driving but he was later released without charge after he was found to be below the drink-drive limit.

A Derbyshire police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 11.55pm to Collingwood Road in Long Eaton to reports that a Vauxhall Corsa had gone into the garden wall and crashed into a house.

"One male was arrested for drink driving but later, when in custody, he was released without charge as he was found to be below the drink drive limit."
