Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade have issued requested that Rangers donate footage of a European Cup defeat - after their clips were lost in a bombing.
The Ibrox side crashed to a 3-0 defeat in the then-capital of Yugoslavia in October 1990 in the first leg of the second round tie. Rangers could only draw the second leg 1-1 and were eliminated.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the clash when Red Star went on to win the Cup in Bari the following year beating Marseille on penalties.
The club have plans show full footage of every game at a special event but are missing the home leg against Rangers after it was lost in 1999.
The game in Glasgow is the only game missing from the collection and Belgrade sports director Marko Petrovic is desperate for Rangers to dip into the Ibrox archives ahead of the event.
He reveals contact has now been made with the Premiership champions in the hope of recovering the lost footage.
Petrovic said: "This is a huge year for us and we have footage of every minute of our games in the tournament that season except one...the match with Rangers at the Marakana.
"It turns out it was lost during the NATO bombing of Belgrade in 1999 and we have only just discovered no one has any video coverage of the entire game. It does not exist in Serbia.
"So we came up with the idea of approaching Rangers officially and asking them for help.
"We are hoping either they will have a recording of the game in their own archives or their national broadcaster will and they will be able to help us.
"This is extremely important. It's the only piece of historical footage missing of our triumph.
"We have organised a gathering of 500 people to celebrate this event, but it is dependent on getting that match on video."
