Red Sox ride early lead to 4-1 victory vs. White Sox

BOSTON _ White Sox right-hander James Shields gave up two homers in the first two innings, and that was all the Red Sox needed to hand the White Sox a 4-1 loss Saturday night at Fenway Park.

After a fielding error by third baseman Tyler Saladino in the first, Andrew Benintendi hit a two-run homer off Shields. Jackie Bradley Jr. added a two-run shot in the second.

The White Sox lost for the 22nd time in 26 games and will try to avoid a four-game series sweep Sunday.
