The defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox will have a few new faces on their roster this year.
And they’ll also have some new faces/voices calling their games, too. Some very well known faces/voices.
The team announced Thursday that the legendary Chris Berman will call some games on the radio, as will Sean McDonough and many others. One familiar face will be back – Red Sox Hall of Famer Joe Castiglione, who will be calling games for his 37th year.

The rotation will include former SOX NESN TV voice and current ESPN broadcaster SEAN MCDONOUGH, former NEW YORK METS announcer JOSH LEWIN, and former DETROIT TIGERS TV voice MARIO IMPEMBA. Also in the lineup for select games will be ESPN’s CHRIS BERMAN, WEEI’s LOU MERLONI and DALE ARNOLD, NESN’s TOM CARON, and the SOX’ longtime TV broadcaster DAVE O’BRIEN, who will move over to the radio side when SOX games air on national TV.

Berman’s name sticks out, of course, because his legendary broadcasting career with ESPN.

Some Boston fans, however, weren’t thrilled about the addition of Berman, even though it’s unclear how many games he’ll be call.
