Red sky at night? Must be festival season ...

Yesterday may have been the launch of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, but you don't have to wait until August to start enjoying the festival season. There are some great community festivals coming your way first.

Today was the start of the 10-day Leith Festival. It's gala day on Leith Links tomorrow, and tonight at 7.30 they'll be turning the shore red for the opening of the community event, with bars and restaurants swapping their white lights for red ones.

On Monday, the Old Town Festival will be launched. Then there's the West Port Book Festival on 24 June, the Edinburgh Canal Festival on 26 June, and the Stockbridge Duck Race on 4 July. Phew. Have we missed anything out? Let us know!

I'm signing off for the weekend now - enjoy the sun!
