Red Notice surprise cameos that viewers didn't expect during the hit Netflix movie

The long-anticipated Netflix movie Red Notice recently attained the lofty title of the streaming service's biggest opening day for a film - going on to become the most-watched movie ever on Netflix for a movie in its first weekend.

Star Ryan Reynolds tweeted, "WOW #RedNotice is @Netflix biggest ever opening day for a film. Congrats to this whole team!"

Deadline reported yesterday that the film had over 148.7M hours watched since November 12.

The film was reportedly Netflix's most expensive original production to date, with a budget estimated to be around $200million.

Despite mixed reviews from the critics (the film has a meta critic score of just 37% based on "generally unfavourable reviews"), one element winning fans' attention is the casting, with the film featuring several unexpected cameos.

Who is in Red Notice?

The main cast of Red Notice has received a lot of attention, with the film starring none other than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds.

Other actors appearing in the film include Chris Diamantopoulos as Sotto Voce, Ritu Arya as Inspector Urvashi Das, Vincenzo Amato as Director Gallo and Rafael Petardi as Security Chief Ricci.

*Mild spoilers ahead*

However, some of the cast members we didn't expect to see were the likes of Ed Sheeran, who made a cameo as himself towards the end of the movie.

The "Thinking Out Loud" singer appears playing a set at the wedding of a wealthy Egyptian family before being dragged away by police that have crashed the wedding while shouting, "Do you know who I am? I was in Game of Thrones!" (Poking fun at one of his other, it could be said less successful cameos).

The other person you might not have been expecting to make a cameo in the film is 81-year-old Bake Off Judge, Prue Leith.

However, in one scene, Gal Gadot's character is watching Bake Off on TV and Prue is seen devouring the famous Freddie Mercury cake made by Laura Adlington in the 2020 series.

Where to watch Red Notice?

Red Notice is available now on Netflix in the UK and is still in many cinemas around the country after a limited theatrical release before streaming.
