Red moon rises between 'married rocks' in central Japan

A magnificent red full moon could be seen rising between the Meotoiwa, or "married rocks," from Futami Okitama Shrine in Ise, Mie Prefecture, on Saturday evening.

At around 6:50 p.m., the moon emerged from the clouds and illuminated the surface of the sea. About 20 visitors were quietly watching.

According to the shrine, the full moon can be seen rising between the two rocks from November to January the following year.
