Double-jabbed Britons have been given the green light to jet to holiday hotspots like Greece and Italy this summer without quarantine.
Currently most of mainland Europe is on the “amber list”, which means Britons returning home have to self-isolate for ten days.
However those with both jabs will be able to travel to amber list countries from July 19 providing they pass a PCR swab test for Covid.
It comes after Malta and the Balearic Islands were moved to the green travel list last month.
It means holidaymakers can travel to Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca without quarantining on their return.
Here is our guide to all the countries on the green, amber and red travel lists.
How does the traffic light system work?
• Green: Travellers must take a pre-departure test and a PCR test on or before day two of their arrival back into England. Holidaymakers who test negative will not need to quarantine on their return or take any additional tests, halving the cost of tests post holiday.
• Amber: Arrivals must quarantine for ten days. People must take a pre-departure test and a PCR test on day two and day eight with the option for “test to release” on day five to end self-isolation early.
• Red: Those returning from red list countries must stay in a managed quarantine hotel for ten days which they should book before their trip. Travellers must complete pre-departure testing and PCR testing on day two and day eight.
